Carolyn Warden helps credit unions, family businesses and people reach their full potential by providing financial, operational and compliance analysis, training and coaching. She assists her clients by presenting information and identifying options, as well as leading them through implementing change with minimal stress while incorporating some fun!
Warden has experienced credit union operations from all sides of the desk. She started in the visitor’s chair as an NCUA examiner. She realized if she really wanted to know credit unions she needed to switch to the management side of the desk. She has been CEO & CFO of four credit unions with assets ranging from medium-average to pretty-darn-big.
In addition to working for CUs and NCUA, Warden has been Director of Research and Information for the NJCUL, and the co-author a number of books and articles about credit union finance, chartering, operations and compliance. Warden earned the Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation.
To support those who supervise others to elevate their ability to get tasks done by working through others, and transforming the consumer experience to relationship building Warden founded Service UniversityTM in 2004 and Coaches’ Council in 2008.
Warden has taught CUNA Schools, for numerous leagues and did a stint in Eastern Europe for the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU). Her credit union clients range from chartering groups to over $1 billion in assets, from New York City to Alaska and Hawaii.
Carolyn sees her role as that of a catalyst. Just like
a chemical added to a compound, she can either speed up or slow down a process, as needed. The
catalyst enhances the final result so that it is stronger and more durable than it could have
been without it.
Warden has found there is never enough capital to keep a credit union operating
indefinitely when the staff and directors do not focus on creating solutions to member needs.
